Santa Clara Teen Center | Prodis Associates Architects | Santa Clara, CA

The Santa Clara Unified School District and City of Santa Clara combined resources for this unique, education and community service facility, including classrooms, multi-purpose areas, conference rooms, offices, a café, and an arcade, to address the leisure and educational needs of its young users. Adjacent to an existing school, which would be utilizing the new building, the new building was designed under the California DSA jurisdiction. Two large, high-ceiling, column-free spaces were framed with steel hips and wood-framed infill, plus perimeter steel braced frames. Completed in 2001.
