Wishing Wands

About This Project

Wishing Wands – Wowhaus – San Jose, CA

Based on the universal practice of children blowing on dandelion seed heads while making a wish, the artist team created this piece inspired by simple experiences witnessed at Berryessa Creek Park. Three 12 ft. high stainless steel pipe column “stems” support a ball of stainless steel and crystal seed elements which refract sunlight into rainbows on the paving below. The columns are anchored on reinforced concrete drilled-pier footings. Completed in 2009.
