Rooftop Solar Panels at Poway Unified School District | Salas O’Brien Engineers | Poway, CA

Four high schools in Poway Unified High School District received new rooftop photovoltaic solar panels to reduce the district’s need for electricity from the local utility. Panels were added to roof structures of varying types, including concrete slab, metal deck and differing framing systems of wood and steel joists. Combined with the varying roof slopes and directions, the panel supports required creative and flexible solutions for mounting and access.
